I am a mixed media artist based in Norwich, living on a boat on the Norfolk Broads. Much of my work focuses on the people and places that are familiar to me and that I explore on a regular basis, be it walking in the Norfolk landscape, exploring the river kayaking, wondering around the city, and anything related to the boating environment.
During summer you can usually find me working in my studio overlooking the Norfolk Broads or plein air painting and in the colder winter months, painting digitally on my iPad in front of a cosy fire. The work created in my studio is inspired by memory, my photographs and an archive of sketches made on location. I use a range of mixed media processes which include painting, collage, printmaking, and digital, either combined or on their own. I also run Norfolk Art Club at my studio where I run weekly and day workshops. Session are designed to be fun and experimental, yet artistically challenging! I run a range of Art and Design classes which cover a wide range of different materials, tools and processes including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and mixed media. I also run the Urban Sketchers Norwich group and am a member of the Urban Sketching Community. |
